Braids Basics

We’ve all been there, it’s hot outside, you’re all sticky and sweaty, last thing you want is hair in your neck. Or maybe just a bad hair day, no matter what  tool or product you put in there, nothing seems to tame the hair. In cases like this knots, ponytails, updo’s and braids are a life-saver. But braids aren’t always the easiest to put together. So, let’s get back to the basics…
Three strand braid (regular braid).
image
  1. Start off by parting your hair in three equal pieces. In this case we will call the pieces A B and C
  2. Basically what your doing throughout the entire braid is grabbing the outer pieces alternately over
  3. the middle one. So A goes over B, and than C goes over A.
  4. You keep repeating the steps. So in the third picture you take B over C
  5. You continue to do there this until you have come to the and of your hair. Tie the ends together with an elastic ban
Four strand braid.

  1. Start off by parting your hair in four equal sections. We will call them A, B, C and D
  2. Begin braiding by pulling string C over B and under string A.
  3. Next pull string B over D.
  4. Than pull D over A, and A under B.
  5. Now pull string C over string D and under string B. Then pull string A under string C as shown in the fourth picture.
  6. Next pull string D over string B and under string A as shown in picture five.
  7. Continue these steps till the ends of your hair and tie the hair together with an elastic ban.

  2. your first step is take strand 3 under 1 and 2, and pull it all the way to the left. Pull strand 4 over strand 2 and under strand one, to the left side. Take strand 5 over strand 1 and 2, while pulling strand 5 to the left and strand 1 and 2 to the right.
  3. Take strand 3, which is on the extreme left side to the middle by pulling it over strand 4 and 5. And pull strand 3 to the right side.
  4. Next take strand 2, which is all the way on the right side, and bring it to the center by pulling it over strand 1 and 3, then pull stand 2 to the right side.
  5. Continue throughout the entire braid to bring the outer strings in altering ways to the middle, like explained above, and pull them towards the opposite side of where you took them from.
  6. When you reached the ends of your hair, tie the hair together with an elastic ban.
